It is a beautiful place indeed! I remember traveling to Lake City with my family as a teenager, from TX. We would rent a Jeep and drive over the mountain roads to Ouray and Silverton. It was a nerve-wracking drive, but it was also absolutely breathtaking! I long to return there, so that my dc can see the beauty of it all. I also lost my husband recently. My husband of 33 years was killed on May 11, 2008 (Mother's Day) when a 21 year old boy who was on drugs and was drunk, crossed the center line and hit Elgin head-on causing both trucks to burst into flames. Elgin was killed on impact and was burnt beyond recognition. The young man was driving with a suspended license with a DWI. His suspension began on April 9th, 33 days later he killed my husband. My children and I are going through a hard grieving process just as you and your family are.
